"It's interesting that there's a big burlesque revival right now, but we're seeing a really commercialized version. We're not seeing the strip. I perform the strip, but a lot of the commercialized, mainstream burlesque clubs and people that are trying to bring this back don't really understand the history of it. They forget that there was a past to it, and even the big stars like Gypsy Rose Lee and Lili St. Cyr stripped down to pasties and G-strings back in the '30s and '40s and '50s. So it's really important to me to remind people that that's really what burlesque was. It wasn't about singing "Fever" and dancing around in hot pants and fishnets and calling it burlesque because there's a retro vibe to it—it was about the striptease."

I finally got an ipod.
About damn time.
I also got one of these things:
My mom, grandma and sister came up to visit last night and to take advantage of the sales up here since shopping in Myrtle Beach is not all that. I have never seen so many people in the mall before in my life. Seriously. Sardine style. The line at the Kohls we went to (at 6am!) wrapped around the store. We promptly said "fuck this" and headed to South Park, which was intense but manageable-ish. After a few hours of shopping, my sister started being a brat so we left and went to Boston Market- at which she decided to show her ass so now she is punished. That was earlier today. Jackie and I are chillin at home now, eating pizza from Fuel. Mmmmmm Mmmmmm Mmmmmm. Hope to see some of you this weekend. Happy Birthday Jenn! |

Dear Diary,
Today Jackie and I took 2 of our cats to the vet because of suspected ass worminess.
The verdict: Madison is perfect- but we knew that, and Miranda is a filthy animal.
Miranda got a shot in her ass to clear up her filth and Madison got 2 shots in the ass to catch up on her vaccines.
Madison pissed herself on the way home and had to get a bath.
I have indigestion from Outback.

What's new, what's new....
I work all the time, and have adopted a schedule that, for the most part, is the complete opposite of most people's. I'm never in bed anymore before 7am and usually wake up around 4pm...today it was 7:30 pm hahaha.
Something is changing again.
I'm ready for what's next.
What's next?
New Burlesque Troupe: Queen City Betties, first show will be at the club Halloween weekend. Everyone should come and party!
Shooting with KoolGirlieStuff to try to get me into Men's Mags. We're aiming high- submitting a retro pictorial to Playboy for a special edition issue they're doing, but also to many other magazines. Playboy is an eventual goal for sure, even if it doesn't work out just yet.
Shooting with Viva in Oct (YAY!)
Los Angeles in Nov.
My best friend from middle school, Allie, moved away to CT when we were in 8th grade and she is moving back to Charlotte later this month. We've recently gotten in touch again, so I'm excited to be continuing our friendship after all this time. It's nice to chat with an old friend and catch up :] It'll be nice to see her often.
I can't wait until Jackie gets his license back next month.
He's driving me around for the next 6 months at LEAST :]
Also, my personality flaws have never been more apparant to me. Nothing puts you under a microscope like making a living off of your (fleeting) appearance and selling a persona. I am constantly over analyzing myself, and I don't mean physically. I have said "I" many more times than I am comfortable with in this entry and it makes me feel self involved. If I have learned anything this year, it is that I am entirely too self involved.
See you at Liz's tonight? I have to work, but still plan on coming...just late. |

Breast Implants (They're nice now, but I want DD's)
Collagen in my lips
Lipo of my stomach and inner thighs
Laser resurfacing
Botox in forehead and crows feet
In other words, I want to be a red headed Jenna Jameson
